Fluke FLK-TI300 is one of the three new thermal cameras around. This device is a high-quality thermal imaging camera, and it’s a must-have for electricians, contractors, professionals, and DIYs. The important thing to notice is that this product can be used for industrial purposes, so it’s eligible for professional use. This instrument offers top-notch features and resolution. The 240 x 180-pixel resolution is considered quite high in thermal imaging camera business.

For an even more detailed overview, TI300 has an integrated 5-megapixel camera. Images you shoot with the infrared sensor can be merged with high-resolution images to create a better and more complete image. The good quality may come in handy if you’re using this product for delicate readings such as circuit boards, complex machinery, and so on.

You can capture images in three formats: BMP, JPG, and IS2. BMP and JPG are image formats, and they represent the visual aspect. But there are no temperature values integrated into these formats. That’s where IS2 format comes in. The IS2 format is packed with information so you can see the temperature details in different areas of the picture.

The specifications:

Infrared resolution: 240 x 180-pixels

Thermal sensitivity: <0.05 degrees Celsius

Temperature range: -20 to 650 degrees Celsius (-4 to 1202F)

Margin for error: 2%

Weight: 2.3lbs (1kg)

3.5 inch LCD

5 megapixel camera

Micro SD compatibility

FLK-TI300 is not an ordinary reader. The excellent image quality and thermal precision are the significant upsides of this instrument. Also, the additional features complement its power with better functionality. Thermal Precision is also an important parameter to consider when buying a thermal camera, and this product has the accuracy as the best infrared camera. The accuracy of 2% guarantees pinpoint readings.

The temperature measurement range of this instrument is impressive. As we said, you can use it for different kinds of industrial measurements. Unlike other thermal cameras which measure up to 250 degrees Celsius (480F), this camera measures up to incredible 650 degrees Celsius (1202F). This broad range offers extensive capabilities.

Voice and text annotations make it easy to keep notes along with images. Capture up to 5 additional measurements with the CNX wireless system. 5-megapixel industrial-performance digital camera for high definition image quality. Optional interchangeable lenses for better flexibility in other uses

CONS

Because it uses a unique image format (the IS2), you can’t share the images you make with other devices which don’t support the IS2 format. This detail is pretty much the only downside of this instrument, disregarding the hefty price. Many people may consider this device as an expensive commodity, but its precision and the quality of production are worth every penny.

The verdict:

FLK-TI300 is one of the best infrared cameras available on the market. Its accuracy, precision and a full set of extra features separate it from the other, similar products. The quality of production is top-notch. It comes with various features, such as interchangeable lenses, and more.

If you’re in a business which uses thermal imaging on a regular basis, consider upgrading your toolbox with this device. It will help you detect and find problems before they become severe. Anything from overheating circuit boards to leaking pipes can be detected with this device. It’s always better to prevent a disaster than to clean up the mess afterward.

Despite the inconvenience of not being able to share images with devices that don’t use a particular format, this product is a powerful addition to your inventory.
